Jawahar Lal Nehru Smarak P.G. College: Situated in the Terai Region, close to Nepal Border; the birthplace of Lord Buddha; and the work place of Professor Shibban Lal Saxena, the college is named after the name of First Prime Minister of Independent India; and it keeps spreading its rays of fragrance everywhere. Its foundation was laid on 13.03.1965 by then Prime Minister, Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri.
The College was initially affiliated to D.D.U. Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur but at present it is affiliated to Siddhartha University, Kapilvastu, Siddhartha Nagar. Our college is the oldest added institution in the entire Terai region. It is considered as a premier institution of Maharajganj District. The college was established by the divine hand of Freedom fighter and educationist, Professor Shibban Lal Saxena. Professor Saxena also established one more college, Lal Bahadur Shastri P.G. College in Anand Nagar. In earlier time the college attracted students from remote areas and even from neighbouring countries like Nepal, etc. due to its pious teaching- learning environment. Our college is structured scientifically. Its lecture rooms are well ventilated, spacious and furnished with furniture. In earlier it had around ten thousand enrolled students but at present due to university guidelines it has around three thousand students enrolled as per teacher-student ratio. The college is renowned in the whole district for its pious, transparent and smooth administration at all times.
